‘ I have actually found that books can carry children to another place.’ Judith has actually been offering as a bedside reader at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust given that 2003. After retiring from mentor, Judith wished to continue to use her storytelling abilities to assist children who are improperly. ‘I had actually always delighted in reading to the kids in school at the end of the day. ‘ I tried to switch off a bedside light and seemed like something wasn’t right with me. I understood directly away it was a stroke.’ In July 2023, after an active vacation kayaking and walking, Bob all of a sudden had a stroke. He was flown by air ambulance to University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, where he spent four weeks rehabilitating. ‘I used the fitness center frequently and did neurorehabilitation online (NROL)’. NROL is a group rehab programme for individuals who have had a stroke or have other neurological conditions. ‘I had a structured timetable which offered me something to anticipate each week – socially, emotionally and emotionally.’ Bob thanked NHS staff for ‘the fantastic assistance’ and the ongoing physiotherapy he got. ‘ Working together with nurses and seeing the distinction they made inspired me to believe, ‘I might do that!” Meet Sharon, a sexual health nurse and non-medical prescriber who began her nursing journey in 1985 at the Royal Liverpool Teaching Hospital. In 2010 she signed up with Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust and continues to serve clients in Hertfordshire. ‘I enjoyed assisting people and discovering the body, so nursing simply felt right.’ Sharon shows. Sharon has actually worked in male infertility, menopause, miscarriage and colposcopy to name a few, showing the large range of locations in which nurses make a distinction. ‘Truly, I can’t think of a location where nurses don’t make an effect in some type,’ Sharon confesses. On why her role is unique, Sharon explains, ‘The care, kindness, and empathy we bring make the nursing role unique. As client advocates, we assist ensure their journey is supported, notified, and really meaningful.’ There are more than 50 different types of nursing roles available in the NHS.
