Position Summary

Companies are seeking an innovative and highly motivated Senior Software Engineers who will contribute significantly to the development of our advanced applications.

The primary focus of this position will be the design, implementation, and test/verification of software subsystems that live at the edge of the software-hardware boundary. You will assist in the architecture and implementation of these software components and help work with the systems/mechanical teams to bring up and validate new automation systems. This individual will interface across many parts of the company to develop novel products used in the cell therapy and gene therapy world.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the module-level design, implementation, and maintenance of high-quality software at the instrument level
  • Development of control interfaces that will be used by our hardware engineers
  • Ensure the successful integration of instrument code modules into our larger software application suites
  • Work with biologists, software engineers and mechanical engineers to define and verify software engineering requirements

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years industry experience developing hardware control software for customer-shippable life science (or equivalent complexity) instrumentation
  • 2 years of experience in biotech or medical devices equipment, ISO 13485 or 21 CFR part 11 is a plus
  • 4+ years of experience in C# or Java
  • Experience working with web-based distributed applications (Front-end HTML, JavaScript, CSS, REST, API and Back-end REST-based APIs)
  • Experience integrating industrial articulated robots a plus (i.e. Kuka, ABB)
  • Experience integrating off-the-shelf lab instruments/solutions using manufacturer supplied libraries
  • Experience interacting with vendors and an understanding of 3rd party API implementations
  • Experience building machine control and diagnostic web APIs and UIs
  • Software, Firmware, and Hardware debugging skills
  • Preferred: Experience interfacing with and integrating industrial I/O solutions, such as PLCs
  • Preferred: Experience leading and mentoring more junior engineers
  • Preferred: Experience working with relational databases
  • Comfortable writing object-oriented software for real-world electromechanical systems
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative start-up environment
  • Openness to learning new tools such as Azure DevOps, C# 9.0, and Angular (latest version)
  • Self-awareness, integrity, authenticity, and a growth mindset
